Installing carpet on stairs

Putting carpet on stairs is best left for the professional for they can be tricky sometimes.
But if you do want to tempt it yourself  well maybe this will help..

it's really pretty simple especially if they are just "box steps" no spindles no wrapping.
first measure the stairs  from wall to wall. Cut your strip of carpet. lay it out on the steps.  starting at the bottom. staple the very bottom. you can do it without a stapler use your stair tool and tuck the bottom in. you will need a piece of tackstrips along the bottom.  when the bottom is fastened good take your kicker and kick it all the way across to the other piece of tackstrip.  then take the stair tool and rubber mallet or hammer. and hit the carpet inbetween the two steps.  and repeat.
