Should I take up the old tack strip?

If you are preparing the room for carpet yourself, and your wondering if you should take up the old tack strips. well,,,,    it is not necessary, unless they have been wet or have mold on them otherwise leave them down they can be used again. especially on concrete. There is nothing worse for a carpet installer than to get to a house and the homeowner says" I got it all cleaned up and ready to go even got the old tackstrips up.
    so the tackstrips can stay.
