Paint or carpet which one should I do first?

So you've decided to redo your room. paint the walls and install new carpet.
           if your wondering which to do first, well there are pros and cons to each way.
 
    Doing the carpet first...      
pro,, if you scratch the walls it's ok cause you still have to paint.

Con,, you still have to paint cover the carpet and try not to get any paint on the new carpet.


    Doing the paint first.....
 pros,,    you won't have to worry about spilling paint on the new carpet.

Cons.    you might scratch up the walls putting in the carpet .  which you will have to go back and touch up.
